In case you were wondering, no I haven't forgotten about my plans of a first ascent to Schneeberg mountain. This year in winter I already found out that this cliff face is in my way:
But now I proudly can tell the news that I have found a northwest passage through this cliff; I left all civilisation behind:
and eventually reached base camp level on the cliff top:
For obvious reasons I can't give a more detailed descriptions of my path through this cliff: after all I want to be the first one on the peak. Which you can't see here yet:
but I only need to ascend this hill - beyond that vale there should be the peak. As you can see no more cliffs will be in my way: so the only problem I have to face now is - fitness! I am completely spent from today's trip and it is still quite some distance up there; so obviously I'm not fit yet to try and go for the peak.
Of course I could sleep a night at base camp, I should be able to reach the peak and return in time then - but these forests are home to some fierce creature of which I have so far only found footsteps (ten centimetres in diameter!) and dung heaps (a good twenty centimetres in diameter, and stinking fiercly!!). There is no way of telling what this creature might do to a sleeping human. Thus I just will have to try and get up there (and back) in one day.
