Once upon a time Roman gladiators fought for their lives in this amphithteatre. It is one of only a few in Austria, there aren't that many that survived the millenia since the Roman Empire. This one though is in quite nice condition.
(And the photo also shows how green still our landscape is, when it should be brown and burnt at this time of year here in and around Vienna.)
