I love Mohn. I guess I haven't told you, yet.
The English names for German Mohn (Papaver rhoeas) I do not like at all, I have to confess: corn poppy or red poppy, and others.
Mohn is a flower of late spring and summer (as is - even more so - the elderberry, also already flowering in and around Vienna). Seems like spring rapidly is approaching its end here while it hasn't begun fully yet in higher lying regions of Mühlviertel or the Alps. Climate seems to be very favorable this year for vegetation: not so dry as last year but plenty of rain - and nevertheless warm. It's a different story above around about 600-700 metres above sea level, of course, as already posted before.
