Sorry for not posting yesterday but I was too exhausted from my trip the day before yesterday. But it isn't as if you'd missed anything, rainy weather yesterday - and today too, and even snow down to 1100 metres in the Alps, which is rare in late august, a decennial event (that is, likely to occur only every 10 or so years).
Oh, and there's an important fact to add to the last post, about my trip to the lowest point of Austria: I completely forgot that I also climbed a tree:
Now this adds a total of three (3!) metres to the whole vertical distance covered, so 3 + 3 = 6 metres! Which of course now explains perfectly why I found this trip so strenuous - three metres shouldn't have been such a problem but six, now that's a different story!
