While winter has come back in the mountains, here in the lowlands those furry plants have begun their season, those dragons of the pastures.
They're close relatives of Pulsatilla grandis, but so much more spectacular (but even so much easier overlooked); Pulsatilla pratensis they're called, and they're flowering almost black.
