This is a typical farmhouse of the plains of Lower and Upper Austria: a so-called Vierkanter = four-corner-building - because the building has four corners (really!). Only rich farmers could afford to build them and many of them are ancient.
The fog you see is Ordinary Common Water Vapor Fog.
