The end of summer has begun.
At least in the Pannonian lowlands of the eastern parts of Austria.
When the grain harvest begins summer has reached its peak and slowly is beginning to give way to fall. Barley makes the start, it is harvested these days on the plateau south-east of Schwechat. Rye will be next, then wheat, and oats will be the last of the traditional local grain crops being harvested.
