gasometer underground station

Barcelona is overrated.

Weeell ... this, of course, is not Barcelona. This picture was taken at the Gasometers back in good ol' Vienna.

And I have to admit, this is hugely unfair - not the comparison with the Gasometers, surely, but the statement of the capital of the Catalans being overrated.

It's more like, tourists come to Barcelona by the thousands to visit all the sights - but they don't get a feeling for the city at all. (Which I did neither, don't you mistake me here ... I couldn't, not when visiting only for a few days; but at least I tried to.)

But then, this is typical for almost every kind of travelling. So, more to the point: travelling is overrated. And hugely so.

[In case you're wondering, will we ever get to see some pictures of Barcelona? - Yes, you will. But I took only my film camera with me, the OM-10. The films will be developed immediately and some of the shots will be scanned in - in mediocre quality only, I fear - and shown here eventually.]

[BTW, our plane did not crash and certainly was not kidnapped by tourists - and excuse the pun -; but I should think you may already have guessed that much.]
