It's the lily-of-the-vally, apparently, and here in Austria it symbolises the month of may despite the fact that it often will begin flowering in april already, at least in lower lying regions.
Well anyway, it's the first of may. An important day - workers day, day of the mayflower (of Convallaria majalis, obviously :-), beginning of 'high' spring, and general symbol of spring awakening. (Some also say of ... ah well: this is a family blog, isn't it? So those of you who are old enough, go on and google it!)
