Phenologically, fall even begins with the flowering of autumn crocus, or
so I say. Meteorologists also differ, I think for them it is at or
around first of september when they begin to count autumn days. For
astronomers however it is the 22nd or 23rd of september - or today, in
other words.
So finally there's nobody left who still will use "summer" -
except that we have now the so-called "Altweibersommer", which
translates to Indian Summer (or literally, Old Women's Summer). Which
however of course is fall anyway, and not summer anymore.
