Follow me on the first ascent in winter to Braunsberg (346 metres above sea level). Okay, my first ascent in winter. (Actually I wasn't even the only one on the peak today; there was one guy up there already when I arrived, and on the descent I met a couple which were on the ascent.)

That's the peak again, only from closer up.
And this is the reward for the long and arduous journey - the view of Danube river.
Even though stiff northerly winds blew on the top the sun is already strong enough to melt the snow.
The marshlands below are also still covered in snow; however, I guess that in less than a week all the snow you see here should be gone.
