Autumn of course begins with the Autumn Crocus (Colchicum autumnale - Herbstzeitlose). And they're flowering again - I've found the first ones today:
However I am a hundred percent sure that they began at least yesterday if not the day before yesterday because one single flower (which I'm not showing here) already was at least a day old. (There weren't any ones there on this place on monday however - so I am rather sure about timing this year.)
Also it is clear that flowering only just has begun: on most places where soon a hundred and more buds will open there isn't a single one so far; and even on the place where I found those only five buds where out yet, and open - even though on this place too soon there will be a good hundred.
