Hopfen in German, of course.
It is growing wild in Lobau, it is being cultivated especially in Mühlviertel (but not growing wild there ironically), and it isn't only of use for making beer but also is a natural sleeping pill. (Only that you don't swallow it, you just put them below your pillow instead.)
