The cyclamen (Zyklame - Cyclamen purpurascens) still is flowering in the Wienerwald (Viennese Forest) in great numbers; this photo shows the typical habitus of the plant - with leaves attached of which you clearly have the impression of belonging to the flower but without any obvious direct connection:
And they really do belong to the flower, in case you were wondering: they branch off below the beech leaves covering the soil.
Cyclamen is one of the typical flowers of lower hills and alpine regions in the east of Austria (where it is quite frequent, you really can't miss them) while elsewhere they are very rare if at all present.
