The Heisslände - so-called 'hot lands' because they are, in a way, dry islands in the swamplands of Lobau - still are barren.
Only the yellow flowers of European Cornel (Cornus mas) give some colour:
Trees and bushes don't have grown leaves yet (they will soon), and the grass still is brown.
Meanwhile, on wetter patches there already grow thousands, if not millions of snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis), and then of course ramsons (Allium ursinum) which are used as vegetables rather than herbs here in Austria - last weekend I already spotted some ramson gatherers.
