wet lands

Tristesse.

Lobau national park is dirty these days.

With temperatures above freezing and the occasional rain, mud obstructs the paths for cyclists. The pools and bayous stink, with water level being low and rotten vegetation surfacing.

And the atmosphere is one of - tristesse, yes.

I liked it a lot, actually, when I was there a few days ago. The place is absolutely lonely at times like this, if you care to venture deeper into the swamplands. On the fringes, of course, there always will be joggers, nordic walkers and people walking their dogs.
