Once I promised you a picture of the ugly warehouses of Alberner Hafen in Vienna (the very ugly older ones; if you'd like to go back to that posting, 't was on 30th of july).
Well, this is about the best I could muster, for the time being:
You can see them from quite a distance - e. g. from S1 motorway if you're coming from the west; they're the only higher buildings in this part of town, you couldn't miss them.
Beautiful they're not. But, they have character, in my opinion. I wouldn't like if they would be demolished some time in the future. There are two of them, on either side of the docks, and behind them are smaller ones.
Right behind the harbour, by the way, lies a tremendously beautiful nature reserve; it's not a spectacular place but more a tranquil one. Meditative, even.
You get this in quite a few places in Vienna: very ugly parts contrasting with real beauty.
