I wouldn't say anything about the church. I am an agnostic and this is no political blog.
As for the picture, for me this church is just a nice piece of architecture. The architect obviously had in mind that the sun would set exactly there two times a year.As for agnosticism, no, it's not the same as atheism.
An atheist believes there is no god (consequently, he won't write his name in capitals). So an atheist is a believer (but most likely wouldn't appreciate me writing this).
An agnostic won't believe in God nor in His nonexistence but will respect believers of either kind.
To illustrate this, I for one believe in love. But this belief has nothing to do with the existence of God. Nor with His nonexistence. It is quite irrelevant if there might be ever found any kind of a proof for either kind of these beliefs. This, my friends, is agnosticism.
At least, for me.
