Vienna has four ports: the Kuchelauer Hafen in the northwest, the Ölhafen near Lobau and Freudenau power station in the south-east, further Freudenauer Hafen which lies near the Ölhafen, just on the other side of the Danube, and Alberner Hafen which is only a short distance east of Freudenauer Hafen. But ships (mostly passenger vessels) also dock on the Danube shore directly - the so-called Lände (meaning approximately 'shore-to-land-on').

The least popular of these ports is Alberner Hafen, and the most beautiful one too, if you ask for my opinion. This picture shows a warehouse of Alberner Hafen, if not one of the older, very ugly ones which you can see from quite a distance. I try to get a real good picture of the latter for quite some time now, but really they're so ugly that this is not easy to achieve. Some day I'll succeed, I guess, and then I'll probably show it in this blog.
