no dissing of summer anymore

My regular readers might remember that I'm not very fond of hot summers, and I might even have left the impression that I was dissing them (finally a chance to use 'diss'! so finally I'm using really cool slang vocabulary!!).
Well, it's not fall yet (the photo is from last year), but it's as cold as if it were.
Mountain forest on Gippel - Pinus mugo, Larix decidua, Picea abies, Fagus sylvatica (47°47' N 15°30-35' E)
And I finally would not only welcome but embrace some very hot summer weeks, the hotter the better! (And I promise I never will diss summer again!)

(Here you have it, 'dissing' for the third time, in such a short blog post.) (Fourth, actually, if you count the header!)

spring!

Oh, certainly not. As you can see the landscape is pretty much autumn-like. But still there are some spring flowers to be found, which indeed is strange. Here's one, Pulsatilla alpina:

And the other one's Rhodothamnus chamaecistus - also to be found in early summer but never in fall. Obviously they mistook the snow which fell over the last couple of weeks (and duly melted again) as a sign that spring is about to arrive. Obviously they don't have eyes to see that they're really out of season now:

göller

Of all the peaks of the East Alpine Rim I chose the one which kept its fog cap long into the afternoon, when I was already on my way down. And I also chose the wrong way up, through thick mountain pine shrubs which not only left me exhausted but wet too - from the fog which condensed on its needles. So anyway, when I shot this photo I was tired and cold, and as there was also a fierce wind blowing I just couldn't wait up there till the fog lifted.
By the way, I almost missed the peak altogether as fog reduced visibility to a few metres - not that I would have minded missing the peak, after all I didn't expect anything else but another near-ascent without reaching the peak. But as I suddenly was standing up there, and with no other people around, I left my mark in the summit register of Göller peak. So if you want to know my full name you'll have to climb it and look at that entry.
On the descent then I was rewarded with a spectacular view over the mountain range when the fog was lifting; the peak in the background however is the smaller neighbour of Göller, so-called Gippel peak - Göller, at this time, still was covered in fog.

lassingfall

When I first went down the Lassing falls I was disappointed - I couldn't quite find the right angle, and right place, to shoot it. Second time lucky, as they say - which was to-day.

muses

Three muses were bathing in this pond; naked, obviously. Also, obviously, I couldn't post a photo of them here, right?

(Obviously I'm lying. But there's a grain of salt in this story: so you'll just have to try and find out which of it is the grain, and which the salt. The first sentence contains three claims: it was a threesome, they were bathing, and they were naked; two of them are true.)
